Soldiers are drafted daily.
We have numbers of soldiers that no one is taking care of them as far as: Food (we buying and cooking for them, daily), soft drinks, water, Tea, Coffee, disposables, towels, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, tissue etc'.
These items are a necessity for the soldiers.
We are trying to support as much as we can but it looks like we will not be able to continue this for longer. Please click and donate.

Introduction
Shalom to all.
Sometime in March this year, our normal lives turned into a nightmare! The pandemic virus has messed up the entire world!
I was hoping and praying that by the High Holidays it would be gone and forgotten, but HaShem Almighty wanted things differently.
So here we are right before the High Holidays;
- A special time when we usually see each other and get together
as one big Keter Torah Family.
- A time when the Synagogue is full with men, women and
children.
- A time when we auction the Mitzvot (honors) and everyone
participates and bids on something so our congregation can
continue our 3300 year old Sephardic tradition.
BUT,
This year is going to be very hard as we can not have a full house due to the virus.
This year we will not be able to collect enough to cover our budget, unless, we do something different.......
SO, I thought we should have the auction anyway, via the internet.
In this way everyone can participate and donate to help keep our congregation alive.
This is how we are going to do it:
If one buys a mitzvah and can not be in the synagogue to actually perform it, then he/she can pass it on to a family member or any other member/friend (or, you can always give it to the Rabbi.....).
In any case, THE BUYER WILL BE BLESSED WITH A SPECIAL BLESSING (Mi- Sheberach) before the Mitzvah is performed.
Please use this as an opportunity to understand exactly what happens during the bidding process. What is everyone bidding on and what does it mean? Please take the time to read about all the Mitzvot, understand what each mitzvah means and see what is meaningful to you and how you would like to honor your loved ones.
Below you will see all the Mitzvot to be auctioned for Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur.
At the end of each day, I will update the highest current bid so everyone can continue the bidding until the auction is closed.
Payment by Credit Card:
Should you choose to buy a Mitzvah - honor,
and skip the bidding, then click on the
"buy now" button.
You will be transferred to a payment page.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY WITH PAYPAL.
You can pay with ANY Credit Card.
Please note: We are charged a 3% fee when using Credit Cards. Please be kind enough to pay the fee as well. Thank You.
Payment by Check:
After you fill out the "Start bidding here" and your bid is accepted, we will bill you (as we do every year).
Thank you for your understanding, generosity and helping to keep our beautiful congregation alive.
Shannah Tovah
Rabbi Sasson
The bidding will increase by increments of $101 or what we call "MICHAEL". Michael is the Angel of Israel. The numeric value of the word מיכאל in Hebrew is 101. We donate in increments of $101 to beseech the Angel Michael to stand and pray for us and defend us as our lawyer during the High Holidays. (This is also why we blow the shofar 101 times on each day of Rosh Hashannah.)

Aliya to the Torah
An aliya עליה, is the calling of a member of a Jewish congregation to the bimah (stage) for a segment of reading from the Torah. The person who receives the aliyah goes up to the bimah before the reading and recites a blessing for reading of the Torah. After the reading a second blessing is recited.
